Still very cloudy after the storms last night. Our car park at the back just looked like a lake, but it soon drains away. Beyond the fence at the end there is a stream which runs down to the beach. The water was gushing down from the hills. Normally it is just a gentle flow but today it was really loud.
We have decided to club together to hire a car for a week so we can get to places that are difficult to reach in our Motorhome. I walked down to have a word with Theo at his rental place, but he does not have one until Monday. He said it is a combination of bad weather and people just hiring for the weekend, that all his cars are out.
I walked down to Alex’s supermarket for some milk and saw Stella, she showed me the room we will be staying in, in September when we are over for my birthday. It is a tiny little ground floor, one bedroom place behind the supermarket, it has a pretty little garden. I think we will be very happy there – no hills for Phil to climb. While I was there, Litsa from Brouklis was in the shop with her youngest son, he was very busy dismantling a display of plastic balls and throwing them all out of the basket. It was so funny, I wish I had had my camera, we were all howling with laughter at him.
This evening we went to Rainbow as they were having their first BBQ night of the season. It was a great night as usual, the food was superb. We started off with salad and Tzatziki, followed by either chips or jacket potato with BBQ chicken portion, lamb chop, bifteki, sausage and a skewer of pork. I don’t think any of us finished all our meat – it was delicious.
The star of the show, Nefsika, looking beautiful in the traditional head-dress and smiling her radiant smile.
After the meal, we had a slice of Paul Robert’s birthday cake. Another fantastic evening and thanks to John Wright who took the above photos as I forgot to take my tablet with me.

Beautiful warm sunny day to wake up to, this is more like the Arillas we know and love. Janice came for a coffee this morning, we had a good catch up. Then we all walked down to Ammos for coffee and a spot of lunch. At long last I finally met the beautiful Karelian Blonde, Erja we have spoken on Facebook and the Forum for years but never met until today. She is the lovely bubbly person I knew she would be. After lunch I took Poppy for a swim and then had a wander back up to have a rest. We ate at Brouklis tonight, wonderful as usual. Then we met up with Davo and Tracy for a drink in the nut and then another in the Marvel. They go home tomorrow, but will be back early July just after we go home.
There was a beautiful sunset tonight. This was taken by a friend from Anemos restaurant.

Sunny and hot, went to pick up the car this morning, Dot, Barbara and I went to San Steph to Hippopots and then had a late breakfast in 2 Stars, such a warm welcome as usual. We came back and picked Phil up and drove over to Kassiopi to show Barbara how lovely it is. We stopped at the Ice cream place on the way back. I have never seen so many varieties. Pizza tonight at Pizza Letharo. Busy but tiring day.

Sunny morning, little bit cooler though. We decided to go to Akrotiri for coffee this morning, Dot, Barbara, Janice and I. We started off by sitting in the sun but had to move into the shade.

This afternoon, we went to 7th Heaven at Peroulades – this is the place where they have the glass floored balcony over Logas beach. There are some spectacular views from here.
Portofino tonight for our evening meal. We had a great laugh! Spiros was his usual, exuberant, naughty self. I think Barbara enjoyed it, as this is what she wrote on her Facebook page – ‘OMG – real life Fawlty Towers at Porto Fino, Arillas, Corfu after the boss took our order and chose what we were going to eat, delicious food…… Doggy bag? What doggy bag? Bill? Are you having a laugh? – OMG that should have been my last night in Greece for 2016 – that was just sooo funny! Still laughing and I didn’t get bedded by the boss! OMG best entertainment ever experienced on my holiday with my friends and Mrs Dot…. xxxx’

Sunny day, but quite windy, we went to a Quiz at Sharon’s not many people there I think the wind put them off. Please do not ask where we came suffice to say we thought the questions were very hard.
Today is the day Donna, from Portofino, goes into hospital. We are all thinking of her. Yiota has a collection box in her shop, yesterday she was able to give her her 156 Euros, but I am sure there will be more.
We went up to Night Owl for Barbara’s last meal, and then to the Marvel for a goodbye drink with her. It has been fun, and I am so pleased Dot and Barbara got on so well together.

Sorry I didn’t wave you goodbye Barbara, but I had a lie in until 10am. Dot and I had a girly day, we had a look round the shops, we both bought a new top and I bought an outfit for Archie too. Phil stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Stayed home tonight and had Sausages, they had chips I had a jacket potato.

Brilliant day today, beautiful and sunny 27 deg. We drove over to the East coast for a change. We visited The White House at Kalami. After reading the trilogy and watching the TV series of the Durrells it seemed like a good idea. What a beautiful place it is. I would love to stay there, and people watch. Also to see everyone arrive by boat to visit the tavernas on the beach. The White House, has lots of little ‘Durrallisms’ like the Stork on the post, and the ducks on the olive press.
We drove all the way down to Ipsos and had a late lunch early dinner at Sally’s bar. I had my favourite burger with black pudding – bloody lovely!
The end of our 4th week, our Arillas visit is halfway through. The time has flown by.
