Spain

We are back from Spain, we had a few really pleasant days there as our apartment has now sold. We have given Power of Attorney to our Spanish solicitor – another weight off our shoulders as he will sort out all the paperwork. It was sunny and warm the whole time we were there. We have not made any money out of this investment, but we don't regret it at all. We have had some wonderful times, especially when we bought it we so enjoyed going out and choosing all the furniture for it. We have also had lots of holidays with family and friends – so no regrets – time to move on now.

Mar de Cristal Playa

Poppy has had her Rabies injection and we pick up her Passport on 26th March when she has her booster injections. She will be going to the groomer to take some of her coat off – it will be more comfortable for her in the heat.

I have a dental appointment and Phil has to see his diabetic nurse this week – hopefully that is all of us sorted ready for the trip.

The granny flat is coming along nicely plastering all done – painting has started. I cant wait to see the kitchen and bathroom installed.

Phil is fitting some reversing cameras to Mercy – so even I should be able to park her up. I was telling a friend that we had bought the campervan because we didn't want to put Poppy in the hold of a plane and it was very costly for her to fly. She remarked that it is an expensive dog kennel we have now 🙂

Mercy having a service!

We have taken Mercy into the garage today for a full service. Looking forward to getting her back complete with new wheels fitted.
Granny-flat is coming along – all electrics fitted, plasterboarding done, Plasterer starting tomorrow.
Some more junk thrown out of the house – why oh why are we such hoarders?
Phone call from Spain saying a Spanish couple are paying a deposit today – fingers crossed this one goes through.
Poppy is having her Rabies injection this week.
I am 34 days without a cigarette 🙂

Even more preparations.

We think we have finally sorted out our route – Belgium, Germany – through the Brenner Pass and down through Italy to Bari. This is about 1200 miles and we have allowed ourselves 4 days.
Travel insurance proved to be a challenge – because of our ages, medical history and the length of the stay – 99 days. We trawled through dozens of companies and only one was interested in offering insurance to us but we are sorted now.
We are keeping very busy packing stuff to take with us, getting the house in the UK ready to sell and Phil is helping sort out the Granny flat.
We thought we had a buyer for our apartment in Spain but it fell through as the purchasers could not get a mortgage. So back to the drawing board with that. We are going over to Spain in March to sign a Power of Attorney for when it eventually sells.

More preparations

We have booked the ferries, and sorted out travel and breakdown insurance. We are just trying to decide which route to take – there are so many choices.

Preparations

Well the preparations have started for our adventure. The plan is to spend 3 months in Corfu, after traveling there in our campervan.
