Last week in November 2016 and just planning our trip to Spain for some sunshine.
Ferry is booked from Portsmouth to Santander on 18th December then we will drive down to Benidorm staying at La Torretta for a month.
We will be meeting up with some friends while we are in Benidorm and then hope to drive down to Mar de Crystal, where we had our apartment, just to see what has happened in the area. After that we plan on going further South, but no plans made yet.
March 2017 and back from our trip. Had a fabulous time, met some friends, and visited some amazing places. I did not write a blog on this trip because I was just too chilled and lack of wi-fi. Here is a list of the places we visited though!
Stratton Arms for the night on 15th December.
Andy’s in Headley Down for 2 nights.
Stayed overnight in Portsmouth ready for the ferry, on the morning of the 18th.
Arrived Santander on 19th. Then had a stopover near Tudela, and on to Benidorm on 20th.
La Torretta campsite for a month.
We visited Benicassim for one night, Christmas Eve for Darren’s 50th birthday.
Christmas day, back to Benidorm – Benidorm Palace for a meal and to see the Four Tops.
Friends who came to see us in Benidorm.
21st January, went to Sax to see David and Joyce.
Then onto La Manga, Mar Menor, all around the area we had our apartment. Poppy had a swim.
We stayed at various places whilst travelling down the east coast of Spain –
Camping Cuevas Mar,, Playa Almeria, then to the harbour at Puerto de Almerimar for a few nights. We loved it here!
A few random shots from around this area,
We moved on to Cabopino and stayed a couple of nights, we met up with our friends Pauline and Trevor.
After a great couple of days we drove up to Caceres before heading west into Portugal. We found a lovely campsite, even had our own private toilet and wetroom.
Next stop Portugal, we were not impressed with the roads much, we managed to loose one of our wheel trims.
Next onto Obidos, Figuera da Foz, Vagos Porto, some interesting places and a few photos from Portugal.
When we left Portugal, we drove via Leon to Harro and then on to Biarritz to meet up with Maggie and Paul for a few days.
We always have a good time with Maggie and Paul, and we had 10 fun filled days, eating, drinking and generally being very happy. Places visited included Villeton, Midi Pyrenees, Lauzon, Estang.
When we left them we carried on up North. Unfortunately we broke down just near Troys – we had to spend the weekend at a garage in Pont Sainte Marie, waiting for an auxiliary belt and tensioner to be delivered on Monday. All fitted and on our way again by about 4pm. We then stayed at an Aire near Bellenglise before our trip up to Zeebrugge.
Overnight ferry to Hull, it seemed strange not to be going home from there, but we had another adventure planned up in the lake district. We stayed overnight at The Lamb Inn and then travelled on to Pooley Bridge and Park Foot camping at Ullswater. We attended a Hymer meet with over 90 vans. It was a fantastic weekend, and such a lovely setting too.
We covered over 4,000 miles and enjoyed it very much.
